OT: opinions on Bravenet?

In looking at web-building code, a lot of roads seem to lead to bravenet
(www.bravenet.com). Has anyone who's registered any downsides to report
about the "bravenet experience?"

For example...
- are their code snippets clean (of ads, urls, etc)
- are users bombarded w/"affiliate" spam

absolutely YES, in my experience
 
Bravenet totally sucks. Although I do use their ads-overwhelmed
guestbook on my website, it's simply because I do not even care about
the website anymore.

And their affiliate program isn't any better. It took me... one and a
half years to earn 29$ from them, and 3 months to earn 36$ from
adsense...
