Hi,

I used this monkey audio compression format the
first time today but i works very well ! just a test :

The Microsoft Sound.wav = 474 Ko (486 240 octets)

with 7zip standard settings = 393 Ko (402 768 octets)

with Monkey's Audio = 235 Ko (240 720 octets)

(and it's much faster)

Ok so everyone knew about .ape, but me. But isn't it a great thing ?
Between a lossless encoded ape and a high level mp3 or ogg, there
is no more a great gap.

There is a lot of losless encoders, like FLAC, OptimFrog, Shorten...
Monkey's Audio isn't the only one that is availble for free. Even
Windows Media has losless encoding in v9.

Their purpose is compressing audio. That's why standard archivers
don't do good job on audio - they are more for general data
compression.
