Has anyone got any information, or done any research on external t.v. tuners
that also have Freeview (UK terrestrial digital) as as well as analogue and,
also have a VGA and/or DVI out socket so they can input the telly signal
into a PC LCD monitor - including a widescreen monitor ?
I found this one
http://www.tech-plus.co.uk/pages/ProductView3/tvbox5.html
but, it's hugely expensive and outputs 1280x1024,
....quite how that would look on a 1440x900 widescreen PC LCD screen I don't
know ....and that as well in relation to the native 16:9 transmission format
of UK terrestrial digital raises more questions.
I also found:-
http://www.auroramultimedia.com/?product=xtunepro§ion=desc
but, can't glean fomr the site what they're for ...probably far to expensive
anyway !
Do you know, when you stop and think about it, the LCD television
manufacturers are nothing short of criminals - they're churning out the
smaller LCD 4:3 format tv's - the smaller ones with anlaogue + Freeview
tuner(terrestrial digital) built in are a ridiculous price e.g.

http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/product.do?sku=346390
Sony £450 plus for the 20" with preview ....and lots of "artifacts" defects
on the picture I've just been reading on -
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=462179
etc.
....any thought appreiciated,
regards, Richard
