Kirk Kuykendall has a good overview on Common Table Expressions

http://www.sqlservercentral.com/articles/CTE/62291/

but his conclusion contains a "new db term"
(at least I had never seen it before)...

"As you can see CTEs can be very useful. I have found them particularly
handy when cleaning up demoralized tables. Like imported spread sheets."

I assume it was on purpose and couldn't resist passing it on.
We've all been there...

I'm wondering if demoralized tables might be an undiscovered cause of file
corruption. I would think that one table with a bad attitude could easily
have an affect on others and a loss of productivity.

LOL!!!

That got me wondering... so I opened up Word and typed in "denormalized
tables" and did a spell check.

Sure enough...

Nuts, you're right -- maybe it wasn't a kind of pun after all.

I just thought of how demoralizing it can be sometimes
to work with data that isn't normalized -- and what a
clever way of putting it...

Oh, it is indeed! Have to wonder if the person writing it saw the
"incorrection" , chuckled, and thought "Ok, if it's good enough for Microsoft
it's good enough for me!"

just for the record...

I was scoffing at the state I live in
(What's the Matter With Kansas)
not your witty comment George.

Luckily, some state board has yet
to moralize Access tables...

Especially if'n they've been drinking or smoking that demon weed.
