Has anyone else seen the commercials on TV about 3M's "privacy filter"
(or something like) that which is supposed to keep people on your left
or right from seeing what is on your laptop display?

It reminds me of early LCD monitors with a narrow viewing angle.

I've been trying to find a reasonably priced vendor that carries the
size I need (17.1" wide screen laptop) without success.

The prices 3M wants for these sheets of plastic reminds me of what we
used to pay for hardware! A few days ago prices were $150-$300 each!
for this stuff. Dell is quoting an extra $150 for a 17" lcd monitor
to get a sheet of this stuff hung on the front of it.

But maybe the prices will come down.
