Can anyone tell me what "oscheck vista migration 2007" is?? I keep getting
this in my temp folder. Is it just a way for MS to see if I have upgraded to
VISTA?

First I've heard of it. Did you run the Vista upgrade advisor by any
chance?

Thanks for the reply. I haven't ran a Vista upgrade advisor to my knowledge.
I'm still a little "gun shy" of Vista, right now.

If you didn't purchase a Vista disk and you - or someone else in your
household who uses the computer - didn't download and install and run
the Vista Upgrade Advisor, I'd be pretty suspicious of that entry.

Microsoft doesn't stealthily download anything to see what operating
system you are running.

Be sure the computer is clean:

I'm the only one that uses this computer. Is there a way to see if I did run
the Vista upgrade adviser? If so, how do I undo what I might have done?

Don't you know? You would have had to go to Microsoft's Vista website,
click on the link for the Upgrade Advisor, download it, start the
install, agree to the EULA, see the results... There's no way you could
have done this just by accident or unknowingly.

Just done that - no such entry in my Temp folder.....

I been looking for this exact same error message that was posted in a Foreign newsgroup. I distinctively remember reading about this same exact issue and if my memory holds correct the OP at the time installed a 3rd part software that was meant only for Vista . I am trying to find that post and if I do I will repost it here in English.

Thanks everyone for the input. No, I didn't go to window and down load it,
that much I do know. Peter- if you find that 3rd party software adon, let me
know. Thanks again everyone.
