When I reinstalled XP, it loaded into the D: drive which is labeled System Sav. That partition only has about 3GB while the C: partition has about 30Gb. How can I increase the size of the D: partition, or how can I get the system back into the C: partition

Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob,

You have to use a third-party tool to increase the size of the
partition without formatting. Partition Magic could be used for this:

As always, you should back up your data before changing the size of
the partition.

To get the system in the C: partition I'm afraid you'd have to format
and reinstall again.

Good luck

System Sav sounds like a hidden partition installed by supplier to contain
recovery data.
You should have done a repair install of winxp not reinstall, you probably
now have two winxp installations.

Roger, thanks for the info. I'm going to try to use the tool you suggested to increase the size of the partition. Follow up questions - How do I backup ? Do I need to backup both C & D
