XP-Pro -- recently having quite frequent lockups with ie6 -- sometimes
even to extent that task manager will not work and need to reboot. ie6
will be using essentially all memory and cpu when this happens -- does
not seem to happen with netscape. Anyone know what is happening?

Dan,

I'm having the same problem. My whole system just locks
up and I can't do anything. I've tried updating my virus
definitions, running virus check, updating Windows from
Microsoft, drivers from Microsoft and then running WINDOC
through Norton and nothing helps. I've also tried doing a
system restore to a point prior to the start of this
problem to no avail. Sure hope someone can help.

Go to Start/Run, type: eventvwr.msc and press OK.

In the Event Viewer, click each of the three items on the left side and look
for any entries with a Red X that correspond to the last time this lock up
occurred. Double click the Red X entries to show the details of the errors.
While you are viewing the details, there is a small icon on the right side
of that dialog box that looks like 2 pages of text. Click this icon to copy
the entire error message and paste it in a reply to this thread.
