In what way did Google and/or Dell Search capabilities offend you? I did a Google search and it came up with: http://support.ap.dell.com/docs/systems/dim8300/sm/syssetup.htm and http://support.ap.dell.com/docs/systems/dim4600c/sm/syssetup.htm Where it defines what you asked quite clearly: Turns the OS Install Mode on and off. The default is Off. When set to On, memory is limited to 256 MB to allow the installation of older operating systems that have 2 GB memory limits.
