i have been reworking a set of legacy databases. in the process several
forms and reports vanished.

this left odds and ends of dead code scattered over many modules.

is there anyway of finding inactive code short of manually checking every
reference??

Take a look at Total Access Analyzer

If by "dead code" you mean that you've still got, say Private Sub
MyButton_Click(), but you've deleted MyButton from the form, the code in my
March, 2004 "Access Answers" column in Pinnacle Publication's "Smart Access"
