organizing documents in folders

how do you organize the order of thumbnail pictures in a
folder and have them stay in the order you have arranged,
and not go back to being listed by date or size etc?
 
Arrange them in some sort of order, and de-select (for that folder) any
sorting options in the View > Arrange Icons By... menu.
