Frank! Frank! I've had enough! Get your ass in here NOW! The therapy group
session is starting! Dennis, Bill, Mr. Nuts and Kev are already here and
waiting for you. No computer time for the next week if you aren't here NOW!

this guy must work for bill gates..lol i down loaded ubuntu on one of my
other computers and i am trying to learn how to work everythinh.

it looks like to me it is an os,that you just have to learn..not like vista
,where you have to fix and repair, every day and you dont get to use your
computer

for what it was intended for..i am going to give it a try and a chance..i
get the feel that it is a great os with a lot of extras..anything is better
then vista, where you have to constantly, fix and repair..

Looks like Ubuntu Linus doesn't support the shift key.

First let me say I have only 7 or so days under my belt with Ubuntu
so anything I say about it is from inexperience but this is my take
so far.

If you don't mind learning a bunch of command line commands like

sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

You will love Ubuntu.

There are many more you will be strongly recommended to learn by
other Linux users. You can find scripts to download apps and drivers
for you but honestly if your going to switch to Linux you really
should learn the commands. (I personally feel it's going back in time
to DOS 5.0 to have to use a command line command) and I am sure some
will say using the command line is where the real power of an OS is.

I'm just a GUI kinda guy.

Each day I run Ubuntu I am prompted to upgrade something, no
different then Vista. Same issues with uprgades you read about in the
Ubuntu forums with upgrades you will find here. Upgrades work for
some, others it causes troubles. (just goes to show no matter what
anyone does you can't please everyone)

If you have to constantly fix and repair your Vista PC everyday,
there is more going on then just the OS (or you just messed with so
many settings trying to make Vista look and function like XP you
screwed it up all on your own). I suggest you take your computer to a
qualifed technician.

I could go on and on about what I like and what I dislike about
Ubuntu but I wont, that will be just an opinion and will start a
flame war.

I will however say that the new version of Hardy Heron makes it
extremely easy to try Ubuntu out for yourself so you can make your
own conclusions. If you know how to download an ISO burn it to a CD
or can wait until one arrives in the mail take a few hours out of
your day and give Ubunut a try.

Wrong. Can be made to work with System Commander. But why when Grub is
there?
Tried it from the CD, but graphics are a bit crap.
Wrong. With an ATI or NVidia card, the graphics are the best of any OS using
Compiz-fusion.

Cheers.

And it's flaws.

Replace Ubuntu below with Vista. Right on. Try it, it reads well.

Or replace it with Canuck57 or any of the smacktards and it reads even
better...:)

By your standards then, everyone in here should go to c.o.l.a. and address
Linux's flaws. Or the XP group. Or the Mac group. Yeah, that will go over
well. Good one skippy.
