Oracle 8.17

Has anyone been able to install Oracle 8.17 on their XP
Pro machines?

Everytime I double click the setup, the cursor gets an
hourglass for a few seconds and then nothing happens.

I do not know if it is because of XP, or if there is
something else I am missing.

Not familiar with Oracle, but have you checked their website to see if there
are any known issues with XP, and maybe a patch?

Also, does the ID you are using have sufficient permissions to install
this or any software?
