Hello,
I have been trying Linux for several weeks as an alternative OS and I have
to say they have some good features. I like being able to right click and
activate the screensaver when I am finished working on my desktop.
I also like the idea of having a 'root' password to make certain changes to
the OS that could potentially cause it to stop working properly. (This
password would be a seperate one from the one you use to login if you so
choose to use one).
I know alot of people have children using thier computers and they don't
always know what they are doing and before you know it they are deleting
important Windows files!
I also liked the amount of choices you got with Linux for screensavers-take
Mandrake 9.1 for example-they have almost 40 different, including OpenGL
ones, screensavers for you to choose from. One thing neither OS has that I
would like to see implemented as an install option possibly is animated
backgrounds. There are some out there that use very little system resources
to run and look really great.
With technology today most home computers would come standard with atleast
512MB RAM, more than enough to run these extra options. They also are now
standard with atleast a 32 if not 64MB video card to allow for smooth
graphics and game play.
These are just some ideas that maybe if enough people voiced their opinions
about might be added to the next Windows operating system.
(Is there or will there be a Microsoft Survey for Windows Users to give
ideas for new features or software they would to see in the next OS?)
