Optimizing w2000 for Gigabit networks

Hi Friends, recenty we have migrated from 100MB/s to 1000MB/s Switches. With this, the TX should be 10 times most quick, but i see than is only 3,4 times most quick
I read that is possible add parameters at registry level for improve this and optimize the performance of the network

Can someone help me

It depends upon many hardware factors including, but not limited to...

PCI bus transfer rate
PCI chip-set
CPU utilization
CPU type and speed

Can someone help me?

First: Is your server hardware able to handle 1 GBit/s?
1 Gbit/s = 125 MByte/s!
The fastest single hard disks do have about 70 MByte/s Read/Write
transfer rate.
Do you have PCI-X with at least 66 MHz bus? The standard PCI-Interface
for desktops will reach their limit with GBit-Adapters!
Do you have a server chipset with dedicated I/O-handling?

Please describe your performance test scenario and your equipment.
Maybe your bottleneck is not in the registry but in the server
hardware.

The scenario:

- 40 Server DELL Power Edge 2550 and 2650, 2 GB of RAM, RAID 5 with disk controllers PERC 3di, two proccesors PIII 1,3 Gb and network adapter Broadcom 1000 Mb/s.
- The workstations are Optiplex 2x0.

The Gigabits switches are principaly for minimize de backup total time of the media server. The backup now take 1/3 of the time since we changed to giga.

That's not a scenario, that's just hardware.

You used the backup time for benchmarking? Sorry, this is an
end-to-end transfer which will involve (depends on environment)

Operating system
File structure
Disk subsystem
and and and

Please ask someone about performance baselining and perfomance
testing. A discussion here will not give the answers you want.

Have you reviewed Dell Document #RG1050553
It is specifically on the configuration of the Dell PE 2550 with embedded Gigabit Ethernet
NIC.
