Hi,

Has anyone got any tips on how to best optimise Outlook 2003 for large email
accounts. I have around 14 Imap accounts setup and they each contain up to
6000 messages. I have set Outlook to check for new messages every 2 minutes
but it just seems to often completely lock or time-out on me and I have to
keep restarting it which is becoming infuriating. Is anyone else
experiencing issues like this? To be honest, Outlook Express seemed to
perform a LOT better but I am now using some features of Outlook 2003 which
aren't with Outlook Express :(

Thanks,

Phil.

Increase the time interval you set for Outlook to check the mail accounts.
IIRC, IMAP accounts are checked sequentially, not concurrently, so your
short interval could be causing the lockups. .
