If the guy is an Indian, then there's a good chance he's not a muslim.
So he would not read the Quran/Koran.

Unless the <spit> is in jest, I do however take offence. I'm British
and I think that kind of racism is, frankly, something we could all do

The "<spit>" is not in jest. That is something that Jay Stevens Maharaj
has frequently employed, to indicate his hatred of various groups such
as Christians, Muslims, whites and others.

I find it amusing to return the sentiment via employing the same tactic
