My personal opinion (based on experience with the products) - stay away from
symantec products.
Zone alarm Pro (or free zone alarm) and free AVG anti-virus will do you
fine.

Norton Internet Security 2003 is an excellent program
designed to help make your computer virtually "bullet
proof" from malicious viruses, worms, Trojans, pop-ups,
etc.

Purchase and install Norton Internet Security 2003
http://www.symantec.com/sabu/nis/nis_pe/

-- Includes Norton AntiVirus 2003
-- Includes Norton Personal Firewall
-- Includes prevention of annoying web pop-ups & advertisements
-- All in one, easy-to-install & manage package

Well in the past their products did things that windows already did and it
was bloatware. Sucked down too many resources. Maybe the 2002/2003 version
are better, I don't know I just moved on. I don't have time for resource
hogging apps, I just find/use something else that isn't. Also, that most of
there stuff in Norton Internet Security is already done by someone else and
done better. ZA firewall is better and free. AVG AV is free. (I hate the way
symantec makes you pay for virus def updates after a year). ZA Pro has great
privacy control and so does IE. Spam alert? Who needs it. Never use your
real email address on the internet for downloading, shopping, posting in
forums, etc... and you *never* will get spam. I get absolutely no soam at
all. Netnanny's parental controls are better. Why pay when you can get 3/4
of it free. And if you have kids, net nanny is the better way to go.

How good is Norton Internet Security and should i use it.
.
I have had zone alarm installed and found it too much
hassle to set up and use.
I got norton system works 2003 and norton firewall
2003,it is easy to setup and maintain.
Not all of us out here are into tweaking our security
every time something presents itself and this is why I
gassed zone alarm.
It is too much hassle and I have found symantic to be
more than easy to work with.
Besides you can free trial the stuff and make your own
decions.
Good luck.

ZA (free version) needs no configuring. What configuring are your talking
about? You set the protection level to high, medium, or, low and if you're
on a network you put your network in the trusted zone and your done. Simple.
When a program asks for access you let it thru if it's safe, done. ZA is the
only firewall that will block outgoing trojan and spyware requests. Any
other firewall leaves you vulnerable.

Greetings --

Personally, I've been very happy with Symantec's Norton Internet
Security 2002 (NIS 2003 is now available), which includes Norton
AntiVirus, Norton Personal Firewall, parental controls, privacy
controls, and ad blocking. (Just the elimination of many pop-up ads
on the Internet made the price worth-while to me.)
