operation timed out

Outlook Sending/Receiving Report says, "Task pop.att.yahoo.com receiving
report error (0x8004210A). The operation timed out waiting for a response
from the receiving (POP) server. "

The error message does not relate to a specific transmission. The error
message occurs nearly every time I Send/Receive. Incoming email arrives
after executing Send/Receive several times. Could my configuration be
causing the time out? Could a Spam blocker be the cause. How can I diagnose
the cause of the problem?

Yes, 3rd party mail scanners could indeed cause this issue. Disable them and
try again. If it works now, contact the vendor of the 3rd party mail
scanning tool.
