I am looking to buy a new computer that has Word Perfect
and Quatro Pro on it.
I am familiar with Word and Excel.
Would it create problems if I left the Word Perfect on the
system and had Word and Excel installed and use them?
What recommendations would anyone have?
 
You should have no problems with using Corel office software and Microsoft
office software on the same computer. If you don't plan to use the Corel
products, may as well uninstall them and regain some disk space. OTOH, why
spend money on Word and Excel if you have perfectly good albeit
non-Microsoft software already installed?

Not at all. You can have both installed. I do. Or you can
uninstall whatever apps you don't use. Your choice.

What recommendations would anyone have?

My recommendation is different from most others you'll probably
get: use WordPerfect instead of Word, and Excel instead of
Quattro Pro.
