Hrmm.. I have a question about operating system and I am somewhat stunned on,
I’m looking for an operating system that would allow me to install it on a
base server or terminal that would run 24/7 365 and I would be able to have
separate computers around the house that would allow me to run and use the
software on the base terminal/server and also I could it would allow me to
login with more than one computer at the same time. So umm is there an OS
that I could use for this? And hardware (servers or based pcs) any help would
be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

For Windows based computers most software has to be installed on each
computer that it is going to be run on so there is little advantage in
having the application files on a central server, although this is
possible.

Windows Server 2003 will do what you want, as will any of several
different Linux server versions. The hardware requirements will
depend on which server operating system you choose.

If your needs were a little simpler, e.g. just a central repository
for storing and sharing files then you could look into a "Network
Attached Storage" device such as the Maxtor Shared Storage Plus line
which are hard drives that connect directly to your hub/router and
show up on each networked PC as a network drive.

You can also build an equivalent system using a network storage device
from D-Link DNS-323 or DNS-120, Linksys NSLU2 or EFG250, etc. plus
appropriate hard drives.

Good luck
