Before anything, I'd like to point out that this has nothing to do with my
own windows XP computer, but another Windows 2000 computer at work. I
didn't know where else to ask about this:
On friday we had no problems with this computer, and today (Monday) I turned
it on, and it said the operating system could not be found, and windows
would not start up. When I put the windows 2000 cd in, and went to repair,
it said nothing could be found on the drive, and that windows needed to be
reinstalled. I cancelled it because we have a lot of very important
un-backed-up work related files on the computer that we cannot lose.
Currently, I have taken out the harddrive and have plugged it into another
computer, but it does not seem to be working. Two errors have shown up on
the computer with problems: 1780 and 1962. I looked them up and it seems it
has something to do with the BIOS. Now how do I update/change the bios
without being able to go into windows?
Thanks a lot for your help,
Gaurav
