I have just configured the email program in Opera 8.51. When I try to
read my pop email every message has a load of garbage at the start. It
always begins:- "Display all Headers Return-path"

I would really like to hide this stuff. Does anyone know how?
Regards
Margaret

Opera itself is garbage.
Dont waste your time with it. It's one of the worst browsers you can
use. If you thought IE was bad, use Opera and find out what the word
BAD really means.
Get Firefox and you'll have a good browser.

Yeah, great advice.
I, the humble Opera user, thank You.

I use Opera and don't have this trouble - the "display all headers" tag in
the top bar of of an email opens another tab with the header info.

I suggest you try

opera.mail+news

for more knowledgeable advice

Thank you all for your help. I have found the factor that triggers the
problem but (for me) no satisfactory solution.

My eyes get sore if I look at web pages which have a white background.
Therefore I need to tell Opera to show the page with a dull colored
background.

The way to do this is to go Tools-Preferences-Content-Advanced-Style
Options.
You then untick PageStyleSheet and set up your own options.
As soon as you untick PageStyleSheet the header rubbish appears.
There appears to be no way round it.

I guess all of you Opera users who don't have this problem read web
pages with white backgrounds..............

I've found this. I do use white bacground for www.
If PageStyleSheet is defined by user then this error appears.
Maybe there is solution for this, but i haven't found this yet.
Try to search on another newsgroups :)

Hi
I've found something:
Style responsible for showing news/e-mail are defined in C:\Program
Files\Opera\Syles\
in files: mime.css and mimehead.css.
If You use your own css for www defined (for example) in :
C:\Documents and Settings\%User%\Application
data\Opera\Opera\profile\style\user.css,
then you must also add section for e-mails .
Simply just copy content of those files and modify what You want.
I think it works, but now I don't have time to check every aspect.

Thank you for that Tom. I spent hours last night playing with mime.css
and mimehead.css. I even tried substituting the mime.css and
mimehead.css with the equivalent files from Opera6, because Opera6
works properly. I also experimented with the mail folder in Documents
and settings. Nothing solved it.

If I had to guess, I would go for a coding error in Opera.exe. Anyway I
have gone back to Opera 6, which works fine..........

Margaret
