Opening programmes

Help!!!! Only one programme will open on my PC. No matter which programme I
try to open only Corel photopaint opens. Is this something to do with file
extentions

Press Start > Run > Type in this "%SystemRoot%\System32\restore\rstrui.exe"
without the quotes (in case control panel won't open) and hit enter...
Restore to before this problem happened.
