When I had office 2000 I could open multiple excel files
all in seprate windows...now with XP they all open in the
same window and I must tile them wihtin this on one
window...how can I set my system so everytime I double
click on a file it opens in a new window????

If you are saying that you want to open a new instance of Excel each time
you launch an Excel file then you have to modify the XLS file association
under My Computer (or Windows Explorer) under Tools, Folder Options, File
Types. Find XLS in the list and click Advanced. For the Open command get
rid of "use DDE" and put a %1 on the Excel command line after the /e.

If you are saying that you want to see each workbook window open in Excel in
the Windows Taskbar then select Windows in Taskbar under Tools, Options,
View.

Easy one all you have to do is click on tools and then
options then view and click the box that states windows in
taskbar. That's it

Good luck
