Opening mail

How do I open an email message in Wndows Mail. There appears to be no
open button?

It also seems rather complicated to save into the Drafts folder (with
all the changing of directories).

Two options, double click the message or view menu>layout>enable preview
pane.

Most users have the preview pane enabled, which shows the contents
of a selected message automatically. Or you can double-click on a
message listed in the message list pane in order to open it in a
separate window.

While in the compose window, just click Close (the X in the upper right corner),
and it will offer to save that draft.

Try Left Alt, V, L. P key strokes.

Or:
Right click the top toolbar>customise>add Preview Button from the left
column to the right, move up or down to suit, use that to toggle the view.
