Hi. I'm having a similar problem but My xp Home edition open in MY
DOCUMENTS, Any Ideas out there on how to stop both of these similar problem?

Heres what you do. Some how a shortcut was placed in your startup
folder under your user account. Which in turn is causing it to open
on startup. Right-Click on the start menu and go to explorer. Under
the C: drive look for your user account (if no sign in is required for
your machine skip this step.) Next Click on the start-up folder, then
programs followed by another startup folder. Once inside that startup
remove the My Computer icon from that folder. This should take care
of your problem. If not I will find another way.

Thanks for the help but, once I get into the last startup folder it is
completly blank and no My Computer icon or anything else for that matter, and
the darn thing still keeps opening my documents when I start up.

I have WinXP Home edition with the same problem. Following the "'fix"
provided by Microsoft, I note that Userinit does say
C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe with nothing more than what appears to be a
comma after exe My system still continues to open at My Documents!

So, it would appear that that "fix" does not work.

I found how to stop it on my machine. I have a Soyo card reader installed
which has several card readers on it. I had to disable the monitor for it
and that took care of the opening in My Computer problem.
