Opening files with "Choose Program"

Hi,
When I right click any file and select "Open With"
followed by "Choose Program" the file is opened in
Notepad. This happens by default and for all files, even
exes and mp3s. Could somebody tell me how to fix this?

The "Open With" menu does show a program list, and
selecting on any program from the list does open the file
in that program correctly, however navigating
using "Choose Program" option is not possible.

Hi,

This is where it is referenced in the registry:

Notepad will be used to open the files by default if no association already
exists.

Open your registry and find the key "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell"

(Default) to read Open With Notepad.
(Default) to read notepad.exe %1.
