OPENING EXCEL DOCUMENTS

Every time I recieve things created w/ Excel. I can't
open it. When I let windows "search the web to find what
program created it" and it tells me Excel did , I'm not
sure how to obtain it so I can open my spreadsheets, etc
that people have sent me. I downloaded something but it
didn't work.Can someone help?
 
It's quite simple Lisa, to open an Excel spreadsheet you need to purchase
Excel. I'm a little confused about your statement "I'm not sure how to
obtain it so I can open my spreadsheets, etc", how do you have Excel
spreadsheets if you don't have the application or for that matter why?
