Hi,

When I open a .csv file in excel, everything opens in one column. Of
course I can use 'Data->Text to Columns' to put everything in seperate
cells, but for my work I have to do this a million times and it is
getting really annoying. Excel should be able to open .csv files and
put everything automatically in the right cells instead of in one
column.

My collegaes do not have this problem, the same .csv files
automatically open in the right way in excel on their computers.
I tried a simple file, one that only contains:
a,b,c,d
and excel put this in one column! I really want to find out why excel
does not do this putting in the cells automatically on my computer.
I could not find the answer anywhere. Maybe someone can help me??

Go into Windows Control Panel, Regional and Language Options, Customize,
Numbers and make sure the List Separator character is a comma.

to me that it could be someting regional...
Now I only wonder why microsoft thinks dutch people would not use a
comma as seperator in .csv files??
