Hello,

Can anyone recommend a good program that opens .tar.gz files? It would be
nice for the program to be free of charge, but if not, please recommend the
cheapest program that will do this.

Thanks. This probably sounds pretty naive but...at the 7-zip website, there
are four versions that you can download: a .exe for Windows 32 bit, a .msi
for Windows 32-bit, a .msi for Windows x64, and a .msi for WIndows IA-64.
How, do I figure out which one to download?

Here are some specifications about my processor:

Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2400 @ 1.83GHz

Version: x86 Family 6 Model 14 Stepping 8

Speed: 1830 MHz

What Alan said. And you'll have to run the file through 7zip twice:
once to "ungzip" it and then to "untar" it.
