i am trying to open my personal .pst folder which I
happen to have protected with a password. I can't recall
now my password. how can I open now this folder?

There is a handy tool to strip the password of a pst-file. The funny thing
is that this tool wasn't even written for stripping the password of a
pst-file but for upgrading the pst-file to a newer format. Stripping the
password was just a (handy) side effect. Don't use this tool for any illegal
activities!!!

Read the pstread.txt file included in the zip before using the utility!

Yeah, right. Those hackers in Estonia or Nigeria are going to read
this posting and think that they would never, ever, ever try to break
into your email. They are much too honest for that!

Excuse me for laughing so hard I just forgot my kids' names.

Fact is, if YOU can recover a password-protected file, so can anyone
else, including your competitors, the FBI, the
KGB-whatever-their-name-is-now, the Mafia, the local bluenoses, your
neighbor's 15 year old kid who can see all your network shares over
your insecure wireless network, etc., etc., etc.

So? I'm just stressing that cracking a pst-file for illegal use isn't a nice
thing to do just like you warn kids not to cross the street without
watching. Whether they listen or not is beyond my control; at least I warned
them so my conscious is clean... *sorta* :-D

So, it looks like anybody can get into my passcode protected .pst files but
me! I'm not a savvy computer user. I downloaded this "stripper" tool, but I
don't know how to use it. Any step by step instructions for a dummy like me
someone can offer...please?

They are provided within the zip. Where do you get stuck?
