Hi,

I have something lodged inside my Natural Keyboard Pro and I'd like to
vacuum inside it while I'm at it.

I've removed all the screws on the bottom (yes, I double checked), but
the top and bottom appear to still be connected together somewhere
below the space bar. I'm worried that more force will result in
breaking the keyboard.

Is anyone familiar with this keyboard and how to open it? I searched
UseNet and some other people had the same problem but I didn't see any
answers.

Thank you.

Take a photo of the keyboard, so you can put the keys back
in the same place.

Use a small flat screwdriver or even a kitchen butter knife
to pop each key off.

Then clean the areas.

Put the screws back in before you start. Most likely, there
are screws inserted from the top down too.

The dirt is under the key caps, you don't need to open the
case.

Even if you like the Pro, buy yourself a 'real' keyboard instead of that
junk (overpriced too) that Microsoft sells. I know old habits die hard, but
you CAN get used to 'real' keyboard like the Coolermaster Alloy model;
short, shallow keystroke like a laptop keyboard and it is very comfortable
to use... But, that's just me.. I have used Microsoft, Logitech etc etc, i
prefer the Coolermaster...Keep paperclips and hard contact lenses away from
your keybord. Don't take your keyboard apart; it will never work right after
you mess with it like that.

There are plastic lugs that you have to depress along the edges of the
keyboard.. the membrane under the keys does not take to handling well at
all.. prise the keys out.. if you live in North America, go to
Staples/Office Depot and buy the Fellowes keyboard protector.. you
essentially buy a form that has to be filled in and sent to Fellowes.. the
product that you receive back does look flimsy, but works well..
