When I open a file, the dialog box insists on using the preview option - I
keep changing it back to the way I want the files to be listed, but the next
time it goes back to the preview option - how can I change that?

Thank you.

Sounds reasonable - what would be registry edit that I would need - in other
words, where is the info stored that keeps defaulting to preview mode? I
already have so many shortcuts on the menu, if I add more I will get even
more confused.

Thanks,

Just wondered if anyone has a thought on the reg edit I would need so when I
try to open a PP file, the option always available is not the preview one.

Thanks.

Well, I don't know about a reg edit, but I don't recall having this problem
in PPT once I've changed the open view in that dialog. Which version of PPT
and what operating system are you using?

I am using Windows XP SP 2 and PP 2003.

Ah, you're right. It *does* stick on the preview view. I obviously forgot
about that!

I think we had a thread about this -- or something similar -- awhile back,
but I don't recall that there was a fix for it. So I guess it's back to the
reg edit idea. I don't know which key you'd have to use, though, and I
couldn't find anything in the MSKB on it.

Oh, hang on. Here's that original thread. http://tinyurl.com/65rhz You're
not losing your ming, HJC -- there's just no way that any of us are aware of
to remove this behavior. Sorry we don't have a better answer for you.
