Opening 2007 in 2003 Access

I am just wondering if there is any one having any problems with opening a
2007 db in 2003. We have had them save the db as a 2003 but when we get it
we can only open it in Excel. Does anyone have any advice
 
I don't understand how you can open a database in Excel, so I think you'll
have to provide some more information.

Exactly how are you saving the database as 2003 format? Exactly how are you
trying to open the database you saved? When you try to open the database,
what happens? Do you get an error message? If so, what's the error message?
