I have set my options to open with the "Outlook Today"
page but it allways opens with the Inbox! Any
suggestions? I am running Outlook2002 and have
downloaded all the rcent updates.

I am having the exact opposite problem. I can't get Outlook to open with the Inbox, only Outlook Today. Any help would be appreciated.

It's probably the shortcut you're using to open Outlook. Some shortcuts are
preprogrammed to open Outlook in the Inbox -- for example, the one that
appears on the Windows XP Start menu. (It's a "check e-mail" shortcut and
it will automatically open the Inbox of whatever mail program you have set
as the default.) Other shortcuts may have a switch added to the end of the
target file path that specifies opening in one folder or another. Check
your shortcut and see if any of the above applies.

Unfortunately it didn't seem to help. It still displays the Folder Home page instead of the inbox. If I ask it not to show this page it won't display the emails in the inbox, just a blank screen.

That's very odd. Do you have any add-ins installed? Go to Tools | Options
| Other, click Advanced Options, and then click on the two buttons near the
bottom that have to do with add-ins. Perhaps something is interfering with
your folder views.

I'm a little confused by your last reply, also -- your first post said that
Outlook opens in the Inbox instead of in Outlook Today, but your reply to me
made it sound like a different problem altogether, having to do with folder
home pages instead of which folder opens when Outlook starts.

Ahh, I see...I didn't notice that earlier. IMHO, in future it would be
helpful if you could start a new thread instead of tagging onto someone
else's...less confusion that way (especially late at night, when I tend to
reply <g>)

I don't know how Norton Antispam works, so perhaps the folder home page
issue is a "feature" of that program. Have you contacted Norton to see if
they can help?
