I have started having a problems when I have opened an Internet Explorer
window. If I access another webpage through that window, then close it, it
closes the original window. This forces me to re-open the Explorer window
and access the original webpage all over again. Does anybody know what could
be causing this, or how to remedy it? I can't think of anything I've done
recently that would have caused this change.

Thanks!

When clicking a link, you can also right click the link and select Open in
New Window.

Or hold down the Shift key while left clicking a link to open the link in a
new window.

Internet Explorer | Tools | Internet Options | Advanced tab |
Uncheck: Reuse windows for launching shortcuts |
Click Apply | Click OK

i am having the same problem! i have done nothing different then usual
everytime i close a second window it shows up error and tells me to send
error to microsoft. this has been going on for 3 weeks! let me know if you
find anything out!

Thanks, I will try that. However, my biggest problem is when using my
Hotmail e-mail account. Say I click the "print view", it opens a separate
window, I print, then I close that window. It will then shut down the whole
original internet explorer windown that I used to access hotmail, and any
other windows that had been opened through the initial one. I tried your
suggestion, but it does not apply to this situation. Any other ideas?

Ask the Hotmail people. I do not know anything about hotmail.
