open search companion instead of file folder

Every time I go to open a file folder or program, I am automatically redirected to the search companion. If I want a folder or program to open I must right-click on the object and then scroll down to open....search is the first option on this menu.

or open regedit and navigate to:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell
The data value should be “ none “.
and/or
Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 /i shell32

Note you can save the registry key first by:
On the File menu, click Export.
In the File name box, type SaveKey, and then click Save.
Or create a system restore point prior to editing.
Note: If the registry key is not there, you can simply create one by going edit
new.
