open or save file error

vista home premium. in trying to open an attachment to an email,I get the "do
you want to open or save this file." message.Choosing either,I get the
message repeated endlessly.This has happened several times.Last time it was a
..doc file. Don't remember which the earlier ones were. I ain't the sharpest
kid on the block with computers,so any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

You email app probably has a tools menu item for Options. The Security tab
there will probably have a setting to Not Allow attachments that could be
dangerous.
