hi, again, abraam !
I tried one solution someone recommended but the converter botches up the files since it randomly overwrites certain cells.
Any ideas to my below problem? Thank you.
[I'm sorry if you think 'my suggestion' is causing you some pain] :-(
other -possible- source for any workaround follows...

[pasting]...
Microsoft does not provide an import Excel filter for Works-WKS files later than version 2.
There is no standard way to convert a lot of Works-WKS files into the Excel format.
You need to save each file out of Works manually into XLS which is a pain in the neck.
Please note:
The trial version will randomly replace some cells with (((0-0))).
Also you will find a little text in the first used cell.
As a result formulas refering to these cells will not work properly.
Apart from that there are no limitations!
-> this one is to encourage you to buy the 'full' version...
If you think, that the demo limitations hurts your file too much, send us a few files
(the maximum is 3 for WKS and 1 for WDB).
We will convert them with the unlimited program.
This may give you a better impression.
How to order
To get the full version press the button in the converter menu bar.
-> other way could it be if you install the works-converter [from earlier versions of excel/office] -?-
