I prefer to have all my folders set to open in new windows as I'm drilling
through them. This makes it vastly easier for me to move/copy files around,
or to compare something between two folders.

Is there a way to select this type of behavior in Vista Business?

In a folder, click "Organize" and choose "Folder and Search options".
Under "Browse Folders" choose "Open each folder in its own windows".

While it may not always give you exactly what you want you could try
this change.

1. Open Windows Explorer
2. From Menu Bar, Tools, Folder Options
3. General Tab. Open each folder in it's own window
4. Click Apply. Ok.

Better, assuming you want to move files around or compare the folder
contents of some other folder, open two or more instances of Windows
Explorer and resize the windows to have them appear along size each
other or lined up vertically so all appear on screen at once. As long
as they don't overlap clicking within the confines of one window won't
shut the others down but will change the focus of which window pane
has Windows' attention.

I do this all the time and you can easily drag and drop files this way
either alone or in groups. In fact you can do multiple instances of
moving differet groups of files around all at once since Vista will
treat each request as a seperate event and set up handlers to take
care of each process. So in theory anyway, (I've never tried more than
3) you could have a half a dozen or more instances of Explorer all
open at once with you copying/moving/comparing files to various
folders all at once with each action showing it's own progress bar of
it's particular copy/move process while the scroll bar for each window
pane works seperate of the others. That is a cool Windows trick Vista
does do well...most of the time anyway without stumbling.
