After downloading and installing SP2, I launched 1Safe/Echo to do a full
system backup. After selecting all of drive C:, the backup started, saved the
registry and then displayed "Done." No files were backed up. I've tried
everything I can think of short of uninstalling SP2. Suggestions will be
appreciated.

This could be
A firewal issue
A file sharing issue
A user rights permissioning issue
A driver/software package thatnolonger works under SP2
A Global Policy or local policy setting ( Start\Run\gpedit.msc OK Computer
management\Windows settings\security settings\local policies\User Rights
assignment OR Security options.

Firewall issue?
Access Controll Panel\Security centre\ Windows firewall icon at bottom of
screen)
Click tab labelled Exceptions
select Add program
navigate to the program and add this to the exceptions list.
Note the warning at the top of the page that this weakens your security.

A file sharing issue?
By default in the firewall File and printer sharing will be checked. If the
first suggestion dos not work and this is NOT switched ON chek the box and
appply the change.

A user rights permissioning issue
try logging on as Administrator. This should establish if it is a
permissioning issue.

A driver/software package thatnolonger works under SP2?
Check your harware provider's web-site for XP SP2 updates.
Check that the Driver has not been changed by SP2.
If it has you will be able to restor back to the back-up copy you took
before applying the update or the software installation disc/ manufacturer's
web-site.

Always back-up your PC before making any of the changes suggested.

Hope this helps

I have similar problems with my Onstream drive after installing SP2.
If I try to initialize a tape, I get a blue screen on pfs.sys. Restor
still works, but I can't make any backups.
I am afraid someone has to rewrite the drivers, but I wouldn't know wh
to ask. I'll try to contact Hastec.

Let me know if you have found a solution
