I just set up a computer at home that I had been using previously. Everything
appears to be working fine, but it wont connect to the internet. It says that
the ethernet is enabled and working, but it wont connect to the internet.
Help ?

Any details? Do you know if it dial up, broadband...... Or of it connected
via a router, or if it is a serial connected, USB ........., is your
secretive device showing in the device manager without warnings, Or
......... etc.
If you really want help you'll have to give up some of your secrets.

check for a static IP ADDRESS in the TCP/IP Properties
(if you have static addressing then make sure your default gateway is
Correct)
some times i have seen the subnet mask get crazy so make sure it is
correct (eg 192.168.xx.xx = 255.255.255.0... if it is not a modified
network)

also do a NIC Card test { ping 127.0.0.1) this should return successful
... else your NIC is bad

Happy troubleshooting Harry email me if you need more help @
burmanh....gmail

It is set up to automatically detect the settings. There are no addresses
shown. It is also that way with my other PC.
