Where can I find instructions on how to install Windows XP Professional with only the basic files required for the operating system itself - nothing else

Thanks Carey,
If that is the case then is there anywhere where I can go that will tell me what 'Services' etc that I can safely turn off - so that all that is running is the base operating system. This needs to be done on our warehouse tablets as we have our own program (Microsoft Axapata) which is all the users utilise and we need to boost performance.

There are many different files that can be removed from the windows xp cd. Check http://www.msfn.org & read the forums. I'd post you the min install tutorial but I'm @ work behind a proxy right now :P

The files found on the Windows XP CD are all "basic files". One cannot
install XP any other way.

XPLite is available, as with 98Lite you can remove anything and everything
you like. XPLite claims to be able to reduce the standard XP install to
350mb. This, of course, is not supported by Microsoft so use at you own
risk. I havent used it but would very much like to.
