I've been running W2k for two years now. All MS patches, Hot Fixes
and Updates have been installed. For the first year I was amazed that
I never got a blue screen. Now, when online, I'll get an occasional
crash. It seems unrelated to a particular Web Site. It'll crash
using IE or Firefox. I've gone back, using a Ghost image, several
months thinking the cause might be some software that I installed -
did not fix the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Using a cable modem and Road Runner

it might help if you check the stop code on the crash and see what it points
at. the kb is decent to get you started in the right direction. it could
be a hardware problem, your nic, memory, or hd may be going bad. a check of
the stop code and review the event viewer for other errors may give you a
starting point. also make sure your virus protection is up to date and scan
for other malware. remember, if you ghost back to an old image the virus
scanner is automatically that far out of date and must be updated
immediately, and of course any updates in that period would have to be
reapplied, etc.
