I built a tower for fun, and installed XP Home edition using a slipstreamed
XP / SP2 cd-r made a couple of months ago.

If I want to sell it and so buy a copy of XP Home ed. OEM from
http://www.aria.co.uk who sell it for £59.93, can I "activate" it online
using the license key on the new XP cd without having to reinstall, and
having to do all the motherboard driver installation / Java / codecs / wmp10
offline install ......etc. ?

regards, Richard

Hi Richard,

No, you have to do a repair installation. The procedure used to change keys
without reinstalling only applies to volume licenses.
