Can I change the way the mouse functions, so that I never have to click
twice where this is normally required, but get the same result by clicking
just once?

Using WinXP Pro and Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse.

Regards.

Hi

I understand that you want to sinle click while opening
files or folders usin mouse.

To do this , click start > control panel > mouse> in the
mouse properties under "General" tab, go to Files and
Folders section, check the option "Single click to open an
item"

Hope this is helpfull

Mala
