One more endnote question (Dayo...?)

In reference to Dayo's earlier suggestion to de-
select "suppress endnotes" in Page Setup to cause endnotes
to locate at the end of a section rather than the end on
the document: what if "suppress endnotes" is checked, but
in gray and therefore not able to be unchecked? Any idea
how to un-check it then?

Thanks again, Dayo. You have gone above and beyond the
call of duty with me. I'll fiddle around with all those
settings, see if I can't find the right combination.

Dayo,
I did it! What happens (for future reference) is that
there has to BE an endnote present to activate the
checkbox. Once I went ahead and entered one I was then
able to un-check the box and they then moved to the proper
location. YESSSS!!!! Finally able to finish this
project.

by the way I have not been able to respond directly to
your posts, so I have to keep entering them as reponses to
mine - you might want to have someone look at that...
 
Excellent, thanks for the tip (although it doesn't seem to be consistently
true in my documents). But great to have another possibility for fixing
endnotes.
