Hi,

Is it possible to store my data on a different partition from the one on
which Win XP Pro resides?

Right now "My documents" are in the usual "profile" location:
C:\WINNT\Profiles\. I'd like like to store "My documents" on a separate
partition because I want to back up the data often, and make an image of the
OS only occasionally. Is this possible?

Many thanks in advance.

This is for Windows XP, and seems you are running W2K, so I'm not sure if it
will work the same but my guess is it will.
Start\Documents\Properties\Location of the Documents folder is there and the
desired location can also be changed right there to any partition. You can
do the same with other user accounts.

I place everything in the My Documents folder including a Backups folder
containing a backup of - address book - desktop - favorites -
inventory -
money - OE accounts - OE folders - etc. I then back the whole My
Documents
folder to an external USB drive. I also have found that it is a lot
more
convenient to use a 2 1/2 (laptop HDD). Hell this will fit in your
shirt pocket.
