How will Google provide "reputable" over non-reputable vendors ?

| Use google.com

Try www.tigerdirect.com Good prices and they do have "Open Boxes" and
"Overstock" sections that have good prices. The "Refurb" section has great
deals sometimes. They have a lot of rebates, and so far I have had no
problems with Tiger. Give them a try.

TigerDirect is not as reputable as others posted here. The reason their prices are cheap is
that buy end of the line products and products from poor quality control runs.

I recently (2~3 months ago) read a thread in a hardware support News Group where a
refurbished drive was found it what was supposed to be a NEW platform sold by them.

Tiger direct is horrible. Stay away from anything dealing with rebates
because you will never see them from TigerDirect. They have poor
customer support and policies.

Newegg.com is excellent. One of the best online retailers around. I
also recommend Zipzoomfly.com which is excellent. I have purchased
about $5,000 worth of products from both sites and have never come
across a problem. They are both also the fastest shippers without
making you pay through the nose for it (their standard is like everyone
else's second day)

Buy.Com has been horrible lately as well. They cannot compare with
newegg or zipzoomfly, but they are safer than TigerDirect at least. I
refuse to use buy.com after all of the problems I and others have had.

I purchase and sell things online for part of my living. Buy.com is
dirty and has poor customer service. They canceled several of my orders
because the prices were lower than what they intended me to get the
product for. This has happened the last 4 times I have used a coupon on
a sale item. They send you 10% or 5% off coupons in your email, but
then they just cancel whatever order you use them on.

Thanx Nathan:

That's interesting. In the 2+ years that I have dealt with them I have zero problems.

The last thing I bought was a HP 1100 Business inkjet ~1 month ago.

I've had the same problem with rebates. When I contact customer support,
they tell me "the manufacturer is responsible for rebates -- contact them".
When I contact the manufacturer, their (obvious) reply is that they do not
issue Tiger Direct rebate coupons and are, thus, not responsible for them.

In addition, why would I want to have a 30-day warranty on hardware when
others offer a one-year warranty?
